#LiberalLoser: The IRS

Things just keep getting worse for the scandal-laden IRS.  Weeks after news broke that the IRS has been targeting conservative groups seeking a tax-exempt status, now we learn that they have been palling around on the taxpayer’s dime at lavish conventions and training conferences, to the tune of over $4 million.  This excessive spending is a slap in the face to the hard-working Americans who saw their paychecks decrease this year due to an increase in taxes on the first of the year.  As we’re cutting back and living on less, these out of control government agencies find it acceptable to spend over $50,000 on a video budget creating a Star Trek parody, and a horrendous rendition of that (unfortunately) popular line dance, the “Cupid Shuffle.”  The IRS is not the first government agency to find itself in hot water over lavish spending.  Last year the General Services Administration came under fire for a million dollar Las Vegas conference, which not only outraged the general public, but also left us scarred with that image of conference director Jeff Neely in the bathtub surrounded by wine glasses.  We are continuing to hear more and more stories of government agencies and officials spending obnoxious amounts of taxpayer money.  To make matters worse, the IRS then has the gall to run around targeting conservative groups, harassing them and causing hefty financial burdens.  The IRS has done more than enough to earn itself the honor of this week’s “Liberal Loser” as they continue to tread all over the rights of our citizens.  As the great Senator Ted Cruz has said, it’s time we get rid of this incompetent agency once and for all.
